Preliminary registration for Haj begins on September 1

The preliminary registration for Hajj 2025 will start on September 1. This registration process will continue till November 30 this year through both public and private channels. The initial registration period will not be extended later.

On Monday (August 26), the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Religion said. Abubakar Siddique gave this information. He also said that the Ministry of Religion has issued a letter in this regard on Sunday.

It is said that any person who is pre-registered or newly pre-registered can do initial registration by depositing 3 lakh rupees. The remaining amount of the Hajj package price must be paid within the time specified in the package. This year’s Hajj package price will be announced subject to the cost of the Saudi phase and airfare. However, efforts will be made to reduce the general Hajj package price of 2025 compared to last year.

The pre-registration fee for both government and private channels is Tk 30 thousand. Hajj pilgrim quota for Bangladesh in 2025 is 1 lakh 27 thousand 198 people. The initial registration process will automatically close when this quota is reached.

e-Hajj System (www.hajj.gov.bd), e-Hajj BD mobile app will allow the people who intend to go for Hajj through government to do pre-registration and initial registration from all Union Digital Centers, Divisional and District Offices of Islamic Foundation, Baitul Mukarram Mosque and Hajj Office in Ashkona, Dhaka. Hajj pilgrims by private means have to make preliminary registration from the authorized agency. Pre-registration certificate and passport will be required at the time of initial registration.

People intending to go for Hajj through government should deposit money in favor of account number 0002633000908 as Sale Proceeds of Hajj Deposit of Sonali Bank PLC, Local Office Branch, Motijheel Dhaka. Initial registration money can be deposited through voucher at any branch of Sonali Bank. Hajj pilgrims through private means have to deposit the initial registration amount to the designated bank of the agency.

Pregnant women and disabled persons suffering from chronic diseases like cancer, advanced cardiac, liver cirrhosis, kidney disease, infectious tuberculosis, dementia etc. are requested not to register for Hajj.

Normal package will have a maximum of 6 seats in a room at home or hotel. But package upgradation facility will be available. Hajj agencies can send pilgrims with special package facilities.
