The ‘King of Pop’ will have his biographical film titled “Michael†which will hit the big screen in April 2025, according to American specialized media.

The film, which will be a tribute to Michael Jackson, will be directed by Antoine Fuqua and will star Jaafar Jackson, son of Jermaine Jackson and nephew of the singer.

Its production will begin on January 22 and will be produced by Graham King, who was in charge of other films such as “Bohemian Rhapsody.”

As for the script, it was learned that it is by John Logan and according to the official description, the film portrays the triumphs, the tragedies, the human side and the creative genius captured in his most iconic interpretations, of the artist who has become a global phenomenon.

In 2019, the first details about the film came to light, one of the most striking was precisely the new union of Logan and King after working together on Martin Scorsese’s film “The Aviator.”

According to international media reports, it was first known that the renowned producer had obtained the rights to Michael Jackson’s estate to be able to make the film. Then, at the beginning of 2023, it was announced that the protagonist would be Jaafar Jackson.

One of the issues that worries the followers of the ‘King of Pop’ is how the film will treat the multiple accusations of sexual abuse of minors for which the singer was accused during his recent years.

In that sense, some specialized media consider that the fact that executives from the singer’s estate are involved in the project could influence its narrative, but at this moment no further details are known.

Michael Jackson was acquitted of charges in 2005, but in 2019, ten years after his death, the documentary “Leaving Neverland” uncovered the controversy again, sowing new doubts about the artist’s innocence.

It was not until August of last year that a court in California ruled in favor of Wade Robson and James Safechuck, protagonists of the documentary and alleged victims, who had appealed the previous ruling and who will now take their case forward against the businesses that belonged to Jackson.

The iconic and multi-award-winning singer died on June 25, 2009, at the age of 50, due to cardiorespiratory arrest. His personal physician, Conrad Murray, was charged and convicted of involuntary manslaughter.
