Vesperthe post-apocalyptic science fiction film directed by Kristina Buozyte y Bruno Samper (a duo also responsible for the renowned Aurorafrom 2012), will arrive in Spanish cinemas on July 6 at the hands of YouPlanet Pictures. is starring Raffiella Chapman, Eddie Marsan y Rosy McEwen.
Produced jointly between Lithuania, France and Belgium, Vesper participated in the official section of the last Sitges Festival, won at the Fancine in Malaga, won the “Colin Arthur” Award for the best special effects at the Canary Islands Fantastic Film Festival Ciudad de La Laguna Isla Calavera, and has been awarded at international festivals such as the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival or the Bucheon Fantastic International Film Festival.

VESPER SYNOPSIS
In a post-apocalyptic world, viruses and genetically modified organisms have wiped out the majority of the population and only a privileged few are in control. Vesper is a 13-year-old teenager who struggles to survive, together with her sick father, in a hostile environment where seeds are the most precious asset. Science fiction is a complex and at the same time attractive genre that not only gives us the opportunity to create new worlds, but also to speak metaphorically about serious problems of modern society. Vesper is a mysterious science fiction fairy tale that explores determinism at the geographical, social, and genetic levels. Is the destiny of an individual determined by his place of birth, his cultural norms and/or his genes? Or is it possible to overcome these deal breakers and create our own path?
Beyond the science fiction setting, Vesper is a coming-of-age story with a message for our escapist society. Our protagonist, Vesper, is no exception.
