Delhi: Air India is all set to introduce premium economy class on some long-haul international flights. Air India chief Campbell Wilson said it will be implemented by next month. The Tata Group-owned airline is on track to expand its market share and global network.

Campbell Wilson also said it will increase its market share to at least 30 percent on domestic and international routes. Air India is undergoing several expansion activities. , Air India aims to expand its wide-body and narrow-body flights and expand its global network over the next five years.

“Short-term operations are to replace carpets, curtains, seat cushions and covers. Air India aims to replace damaged seats and resume operations as soon as permitted.

“We have recently completely revamped the domestic flight menu and will also introduce premium economy on some long-haul international flights next month,” the Air India CEO said. = The airline has restored around 20 planes that had been out of service for years due to lack of equipment and money. He also said that the cabin interiors have been changed.

Air India’s narrow body fleet consists of 70 aircraft of which 54 are in service. Its wide-body fleet consists of 43 aircraft, of which 33 are operational. The remaining existing narrow body fleet and wide body fleet will gradually enter service by early 2023.
