Premnaseer Foundation in collaboration with Thiruvananthapuram Film Fraternity has invited applications for the short film competition organized in memory of actor Premnaseer. Short films made between October 1, 2021 and November 30, 2022 can apply. The duration of the short films is 5 to 15 minutes. The entry fee is Rs.1500. The last date for submission of short films is November 30. The winners will be announced in December. The award ceremony will be held in Thiruvananthapuram on January 16, 2023, which is Premnaseer’s memorial day, said Suresh Kumar, a prominent filmmaker and chairman of the foundation, in a press conference. The best short film will receive a prize of Rs 50,000. Rs 25,000 will be awarded to the second best film and Rs 15,000 to the third film. The best director will get a prize of Rs 25,000 and the best actor, actress, screenwriter, music director, cinematographer and editor will get a prize of Rs 10,000 each. Along with the prize money, a sculpture and a certificate will be given. Information and rules for submitting short films are available on the foundation’s website.
