Presentation in Rabat of a book on the collection of works of art of Bank Al-Maghrib

Entitled: “A look at the works of the Bank Al-Maghrib Museum – A Moroccan collection”, this work allows you to appreciate the pictorial creations of the BAM Museum collection which are part of different Moroccan artistic movements and trends since their first demonstrations from the beginning of the 20th century until today.

Prefaced by the president of the National Foundation of Museums, Mehdi Qotbi, the work contains two first parts which deal respectively with “artists of the Moroccan scene” and “foreign painters in Morocco”. Each of these two parts includes presentations of artists, critical texts which concern them as well as illustrations of their works appearing in the collection of the Bank Al-Maghrib Museum.

The third and final part of the book highlights the civic action of Bank Al-Maghrib for the dissemination and influence of Moroccan artistic culture both nationally and internationally.

In a statement to MAP, the director of the BAM museums department Rochdi Bernoussi indicated that this work is the fruit of immense work on the artistic collection of BAM including the first representations of Morocco made by orientalist artists, the first generation of great Moroccan painters and the new generation which represents the current generation.

The work is an opportunity to present the history of Moroccan art to the public, he said, noting that BAM has never stopped working to highlight the richness and artistic diversity in Morocco. .

For his part, Abderrahmane Benhamza art critic, affirmed that this work highlights the best works of Moroccan and foreign artists that the BAM museum owns, welcoming the work carried out by this museum through this beautiful book.

He also underlined that the work, which is aimed at both collectors and art lovers, pays tribute to several figures who have contributed through their works to the enrichment of the national artistic scene.
