The publication is preceded by a preface by Antonia Mancari, niece of the lawyer Ernesto Mancari, and by a detailed introduction to the text by Carmelo Caccetta, president of the Associazione Archeoclub d’Italia aps of Capo d’Orlando who supervised its printing.
After the institutional greetings of the director of the Library, Dr. Carlo Sapone, and the introduction by Carmelo Caccetta on the figure and work of Ernesto Mancari, promoter and father of the Autonomy of Capo d’Orlando, as well as the first Podestà, the Rai journalists Giuseppe Sicari and Giuseppina Paterniti and the journalist Claudio Giuffrè reported.
In his speech, Giuseppe Sicari underlined his strong personal commitment and meticulous dedication, as the first mayor, aimed at the growth and development of the community of the newborn Municipality after the municipal autonomy was obtained in 1925.
Giuseppina Paterniti brought to attention the figure, the great human qualities and the meticulousness of this extraordinary man in governing his newly established Municipality.
Granddaughter Antonia Mancari recalled the history of her family, with the claims and contributions to the cause of the Borgo di Capo d’Orlando by the priest Giuseppe and his brothers, lawyer Nino, who died in the Messina earthquake of 1908, where he had gone to discuss with the Prefect as a representative of the community, and Ernesto who was at the head of every initiative for Autonomy after his death.
Also speaking were the mayor Franco Ingrillì, who underlined the importance of rediscovering its past and the development of the town over time, Dr. Marco Bertolani, president of the Società Mutuo Soccorso, an association that contributed to the economic growth of Capo d’Orlando in the early 1900s. Finally, Nino Cappa in his speech hoped for economic and social growth that would better meet the real needs of the community.
