Composer Victor Le Mans, who is the musical director of the opening and closing ceremonies of the Paris Olympics, also wrote the forum’s official theme music, entitled “Parade“. The soundtrack will be performed for the first time tonight during the welcoming ceremony of the Olympic flame in Marseille.
“My goal is to create an original soundtrack that not only accompanies the most memorable moments of these historic games, but also remains etched in the memories of generations,” the composer said in an interview with France Inter radio.
In the creation of the melody, Le Mans collaborated with Thomas Joly, artistic director of the Games, with whom he also worked together on the opera “Star Mania”.
“When Victor took me to hear his arrangements, I was impressed by his absolute dedication to the work, as well as the touch of modernity he brings to it. His classical, jazz and rock training makes him capable of anything,” Jolie explained.
The tune begins in the pop genre with the participation of violins, then a symphony orchestra is included, it turns into singing choirs and turns into the typical French electro sound.
“I’ve been working on the soundtrack for over a year. It is a team work involving many great musicians. It is a great honor and happiness for me to present tonight the music accompanying the Games”, emphasized the composer Victor Le Mans.
Developed in variations with different sounds and rhythms, the melody will accompany all significant highlights of the games, writes BNT.
