The National Electoral Authority in Algeria announced today, Sunday, that President Abdelmadjid Tebboune had won a second presidential term, receiving 94.65% of the votes, according to preliminary results.

The authority said that the result of the count inside and outside Algeria recorded 5.630 million votes for the three candidates, of which Tebboune received 5.320 million votes, showing deep satisfaction with the wide participation of citizens in this electoral right.
She added that the candidate Abdelali Hassani Sharif (leader of the Movement for the Society for Peace) received 3.17% of the votes, while the candidate Youssef Oshish (first secretary of the Front of Socialist Forces) received 2.16 % of votes.
Yesterday, Saturday, September 7, Algerians voted in the presidential elections in which three candidates competed: the candidate of the Front Party of Socialist Forces, Youssef Aouchish, the liberal candidate Abdelmadjid Tebboune, as well as the candidate of the Movement for Society on for Peace, Abdelali Hassani Sharif.
The Electoral Commission counted 24,351,551 registered voters, including 23,486,061 voters within Algeria, divided into 47 percent of women and 53 percent of men, and the percentage of people registered under the age of 40 reached 36 percent.
