President Biden Criticizes Rep. Lauren Boebert in Colorado Congressional District

President Joe Biden made a visit to Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District on Wednesday, where he sharply criticized Rep. Lauren Boebert during a 23-minute long speech. The president’s remarks came after Boebert had been hurling sharp criticism at him throughout the day on social media.

Biden’s speech took place at CS Wind in Pueblo, where he praised the wind turbine company’s plan to hire hundreds of new workers. He also pointed out that funding from the infrastructure law, which his administration pushed through, helped make these investments in jobs possible.

During his speech, Biden directly called out Boebert for voting against the infrastructure law and then attempting to repeal key parts of it. Boebert has defended her voting record on the bill, referring to the law as an example of “Green New Deal extremism.”

The president’s remarks come just under a year before the 2024 general election. In 2022, Boebert was re-elected after narrowly defeating Democratic challenger Adam Frisch. Frisch, who is actively campaigning in the district for the next election, did not appear on stage with Biden, a move that was criticized by Boebert.

In response to Frisch’s absence, Boebert referred to her 2022 challenger as “Aspen Adam,” highlighting his previous political experience serving on the Aspen City Council. Meanwhile, Biden referred to Boebert in his speech as “one of the leaders of the extreme MAGA movement.”

Boebert remained active on social media on Wednesday, directing political jabs at Biden and Frisch. She criticized Biden for taking a break from “his lavish vacations” and accused him of waging an “all-out war on fossil fuels and his Green New Deal agenda” which have negatively impacted the people of Colorado’s 3rd District.

Overall, the exchange between Biden and Boebert highlights the political tensions and divisions present in Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District. As the 2024 general election approaches, it’s clear that the political rivalry between Boebert and her opponents will continue to play out in the public eye.
