The President of the Republic, Nayib Bukele, reported on his X account that six new agricultural markets will be available nationwide, which are part of the Economic Plan to benefit the pockets of Salvadorans.
These six new agricultural markets will be located in El Congo, in Santa Ana East; Zaragoza, La Libertad East; San Rafael Cedros, Cuscatlán South; El Triunfo, Usulután North; Apastepeque, San Vicente North; Ciudad Barrios, San Miguel North and San Marcos, San Salvador South.
The president also indicated that the San Marcos agricultural market has been relocated and that it has a new design, and that it will be installed on nearby vacant lots to prevent it from affecting the use of plazas and public spaces.
“There are more and more locations, better prices and more variety. The merchants are 100% private, the Government only facilitates cutting out intermediaries,” said President Bukele.
This measure is part of a government effort to strengthen the local economy, support farmers and improve the country’s food security, as well as alleviate the burden on the population.
