Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Eui-sun, who has supported Korean archery for 40 years, attended the final match of the men’s team archery event at the 2024 Paris Olympics on the 29th (local time) and gave an enthusiastic cheer.

Chairman Chung, who is the chairman of the Korea Archery Association, visited the final held at the Invalides Archery Stadium in Paris on this day and cheered on the Korean men’s archery team (Kim Woo-jin, Kim Je-deok, Lee Woo-seok) who won the gold medal from the stands. Chairman Chung was with the women’s team (Im Si-hyeon, Jeon Hoon-young, Nam Su-hyeon) who won the gold medal in the women’s team archery event at the Paris Olympics the day before, and cheered them on from the stands. When the men’s team defeated the home team France and secured the gold medal, he raised his hand and cheered.

After the awards ceremony for the men’s team archery event, Chairman Chung hugged and shook hands with each of the Korean national team players to congratulate them. It has been reported that Chairman Chung will be with the players during the main schedule of the archery competition that continues until the men’s individual archery event on the 4th of next month, and will be by their side to ensure that they are in the best condition to compete. After the finals of the women’s team archery event the day before, Chairman Chung told reporters, “I plan to do everything I can (for the archers) behind the scenes,” and “I will do my best to help the players stay healthy and compete well in the remaining games.”

Jang Jae-hoon, the president of Hyundai Motor Company, also went to France to support Korean archery players by cheering them on with Korean residents there. Hyundai Motor Group, the chairman of the Korea Archery Association, has supported Korean archery for 40 years since 1985. Chairman Chung is the chairman of the Korea Archery Association and the president of the Asian Archery Federation.
