The president of Argentina, Alberto Fernández, will travel next Tuesday (2) to Brasilia to meet with his colleague Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, a government source in Buenos Aires told AFP, without giving details. The meeting was confirmed to AFP by the Brazilian presidency.
Without a confirmed agenda, the meeting will take place after a 45-minute video call between the two heads of state this Thursday (27), when both “emphasized the importance of deepening fraternal ties and bilateral trade”, between other topics, according to the Argentine Presidency.
Lula and Fernández “discussed the role of Unasur, the regional body to which both countries formally announced their return in recent weeks,” added the Presidency. The presidents analyzed “the evolution of bilateral trade and progress in the implementation of cooperation agreements signed in recent months”.
The conversation was commented on yesterday by the two presidents on their respective Twitter accounts: @alferdez and @LulaOficial.
