On August 5, a meeting with the international taekwondo family was held at the Azerbaijan Olympic House in Paris.
As reported by İdman.biz, the event was attended by the President of the World Taekwondo Federation Cho Jeongwon and the heads of taekwondo federations from different countries.
Here the guests met with the Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gaibov, Deputy Minister Mariana Vasileva, and Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee Azer Aliyev.
During the meeting, Cho Jeongwon noted that taekwondo has developed greatly in Azerbaijan:
“I am very pleased with the development of taekwondo in Azerbaijan. Your country pays great attention and care to our sport. Many prestigious taekwondo competitions have been held in Azerbaijan. Pupils of your school have won many prestigious world-class competitions. They also managed to become winners and prize-winners of the Olympic Games. I expect an interesting and intense fight from the taekwondo competitions at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.”
The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to France Leyla Abdullayeva, the head of the mission of the Azerbaijani delegation Elnur Mammadov, vice-presidents of the Azerbaijan Taekwondo Federation Hikmet Samedov, Niyameddin Pashayev and others.
