President Yoon Seok-yeol will discuss cooperation between the two countries with New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Ruxson, who is visiting Korea next month.

The Office of the President announced on the 26th through a notice that New Zealand Prime Minister Lucson will be visiting Korea from September 4th to 6th, and that “President Yoon will hold a meeting with Prime Minister Lucson during this period and discuss ways to promote substantive cooperation between the two countries and cooperation in the region and on the international stage.”

Earlier, on July 11, President Yoon met with the leaders of the Indo-Pacific Four (IP4), including New Zealand, in Washington D.C., the United States, where he visited to attend the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit.

At that time, the leaders issued a joint statement that strongly condemned the illegal military cooperation between North Korea and Russia that undermines peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific and Europe, expressed grave concerns about the growing military and economic cooperation promises between North Korea and Russia, and urged North Korea and Russia to comply with UN Security Council resolutions related to North Korea and Russia and immediately cease all violations.

On the 15th of the same month, New Zealand Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Winston Peters visited Korea and met with former National Security Advisor Chang Ho-jin, and both sides agreed that a united response from the international community is important.
