Emmanuel Macron spoke on Tuesday from Nouméa of the possibility that his former Prime Minister Édouard Philippe could “take over” at the Elysee Palace in 2027, saying he was concerned “that there really is a sequel” to his own action.

“I really want there to be a follow-up to what we have put in place. And that those who have accompanied me for six years now can take over, ”replied the Head of State, who is starting a three-day visit to the Caillou.
And Édouard Philippe, who was Prime Minister from 2017 to 2020, “did well by my side. He is a friend, ”said the president.
