Presidential Council Issues Orders to ​Return Military Forces to Barracks

The ⁤Presidential Council, in its capacity as the Supreme ‌Commander of the Army, has issued instructions for all forces to return to their barracks immediately and to refrain from any movement without explicit permission from the Supreme Commander.

The Council stated in an urgent circular to all military units that raising the‌ level of readiness, mobilizing forces, and authorizing their movement is solely within the prerogative of the Supreme Commander of the Libyan Army.

The Council expressed concern that such actions could plunge the country into chaos, negatively impact the security situation, and violate the ceasefire agreement.

Pledges ⁤of ⁤Exile

In response, the head of the Presidential Council, ‍Mohamed Al-Menfi, announced plans to implement measures to⁤ “ensure stability in the country and reduce tension and polarization.”

These measures include joint ⁣management of public spending and oil revenues⁤ in a‍ transparent manner to address economic bottlenecks and alleviate the suffering of the people, as ‌stated by Al-Menfi on his “X” platform account.

Al-Menfi⁢ emphasized the importance of ⁤restoring public trust through elections⁤ and referendums as ⁢a means of achieving ‌good governance and renewing the legitimacy of institutions.

Regarding the military‍ track,⁣ Al-Menfi proposed the formation‌ of a unified ⁢national defense committee⁣ to‍ achieve the goals of the military security track, with a focus on ensuring sovereignty and establishing a realistic timeframe for ending foreign intervention and safeguarding borders, coasts, and strategic​ facilities.

Suspicious Movements

Recent movements of Haftar’s forces towards the southwest have sparked tension in the west. In response,⁤ the military forces in the west have⁢ raised their level of readiness to repel any potential attack.

Haftar’s forces claimed that their⁣ movement was intended to​ secure the areas of Sabha, Ghala, Marouq, Qatrun, Brak al-Shati, and Adre as part of their plan to secure‌ the south.
