The Presidential Council’s representative in the UN mission’s consultations on the Central Bank, Ziad Daghim, said that he had submitted written comments to the UN mission regarding the personal criteria for selecting the governor of the Central Bank and the membership of the interim committee, in addition to legal controls that ensure that the sessions of the House of Representatives and the State Council are held properly and legally.

In his statements to Libya Al-Ahrar, Daghim confirmed the Presidential Council’s commitment to the recommendations of the UN Security Council and its openness to direct discussion with the House of Representatives, under the auspices of the UN mission, to establish mechanisms that ensure the cancellation of all unilateral decisions issued “in violation of the political agreement and the roadmap,” according to him.

Daghim quoted the UN mission as confirming that it had taken into account the Presidential Council’s observations as a primary party with an interest in this issue, and that it had indicated that discussions were underway on ways to cancel all unilateral decisions by all institutions.

The Presidential Council representative expected a new official round of consultations to be held next week after the Sunday and Monday holidays.

The United Nations mission announced the resumption of consultations with the concerned parties regarding resolving the Central Bank crisis today at noon, without any results so far.
