Presidential election 2022 voting completes

Voting for the presidential election is over. Six MPs from different parties did not vote. Six people, including BJP MP Sunny Deol, did not come to vote. 99.18% Electoral College members voted in the election. Meanwhile, Margaret Alva will submit her nomination papers tomorrow.

Voting started at 10 am today. Room No. 63 was designated as the polling booth in the Parliament. Voting was held in state legislatures. 4809 people’s representatives including MPs and MLAs were in the list to cast their votes. NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu has secured victory by securing more than 60% votes. Meanwhile, the opposition is hoping to witness a good match. Counting of votes is next Tuesday.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan also cast his vote. Apart from the Chief Minister, Minister V Sivankutty, MLAs Oommen Chandy, Shafi Parampil, M Rajagopal and others also voted. In addition to 140 MLAs from the state, people’s representatives from the states of UP and Tamil Nadu came to Kerala to cast their votes.
