Telangana Rashtriya Samithi leader and state chief Chandrasekara Rao has announced that he will boycott a meeting convened by Trinamool Congress leader and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to announce the presidential candidate.

Etiquette for a strong alliance:

Opposition parties have stated they will not run in the by-elections. Congress is in talks with like-minded parties. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is holding a consultative meeting in Delhi today to discuss the presidential election.

He sent letters to 22 opposition leaders, including Stalin, to attend. But the Marxist Communist Party has already refused to take part. Parties including Congress are participating.

In this context, Telangana Rashtriya Samithi Party leader and state chief minister Chandrasekara Rao has announced that he will boycott the meeting called by Mamata Banerjee. Chandrasekara Rao said the TRS was adamant that it would not share the stage at any meeting attended by the Congress. This is the first crack in the formation of a strong alliance against the BJP.

Will Sarath Bawa agree? Congress President Sonia Gandhi has expressed interest in fielding Nationalist Congress Party leader Sarabjit Pawar as the opposition’s common candidate in the presidential election. Some other parties have also expressed support. But at that meeting Sarabjit was not interested in contesting the election.
It was reported that Pawar had said at a meeting of the Nationalist Congress Party in Mumbai yesterday evening that “I am not contesting and I will not be the opposition candidate for the presidency”.
In this context, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee met Sarabjit Pawar in Delhi. It is learned that Mamata Banerjee had then asked Sarabjit Pawar to contest the presidential election as the common candidate.
