The Independent National Electoral Commission has published a few days ago the provisional results by province of the presidential election of November 16. Results which demonstrate that even absent from the electoral campaign, certain candidates like Marc Ravalomanana or Hery Rajaonarimampianina retain their popularity in the provinces.

In Antananarivo where Andry Rajoelina mobilized significant financial resources for his electoral campaign, he obtained more than 63% of the votes cast. Former president Marc Ravalomanana, who called for a boycott of the vote and refrained from propaganda, finds himself with 18% of the vote so far. As for Siteny Randrianasoloniaiko, he is at almost 10% of the votes cast although he did not carry out a real electoral campaign in the capital and its surroundings.

In Antsiranana, Andry Rajoelina launched his campaign with a significant mobilization of his supporters, he ultimately obtained only 49.91% of the votes while former president Hery Rajaonarimampianina obtained 20.9% without campaigning. Marc Ravalomanana finds himself with 7.15% of the votes and Siteny Randrianasoloniaiko at 12.54%.

In the province of Toliara, believed to be the stronghold of Siteny Randrianasoloniaiko, he only came in second position (23.6%) behind Andry Rajoelina (57.17%). The other candidates also obtained non-negligible votes such as Marc Ravalomanana (7%), Hajo Andrianainarivelo, Roland Ratsiraka or Tahina Razafinjoelina.

In Mahajanga, Marc Ravalomanana obtained 17.33%, Hajo Andrianainarivelo 2.34%, Jean Brunelle Razafintsiandrofa 1.83% and Tahina Razafinjoelina 1.83%. While those who campaigned, notably Andry Rajoelina is at 54.76% and Siteny Randrianasoloniako at 10.90%. Same in Toamasina, former presidents Marc Ravalomanana and Hery Rajaonarimampianina obtained respectively 10.97% and 5.62% of the votes cast although they called for a boycott of the election while candidates No. 3 and No. 13 obtained 64% and 9.38% of the votes cast.
