The Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) reminds independent candidates, political parties and groups that in accordance with its Decision No. 044/CENI/AP/2022 of November 26, 2022 publishing the calendar of the 2022-2027 electoral process relating to the presidential and legislative elections, provincial, urban, municipal and local, the electoral campaign for the presidential election, the national and provincial legislative elections launched since November 19, 2023 and for Municipal Councilors started on December 4, 2023 ends on Monday December 18, 2023 at midnight, local time, throughout the extent of the Democratic Republic of Congo. After the close of the electoral campaign, independent candidates, parties and political groups are required to:1. Remove, twenty-four hours before polling day, all their posters within a 10 meter radius of the Voting Center;2. Do not distribute, on election day, manifestos, circulars or propaganda documents;3. Do not wear clothes with patterns, colors or logos of political parties or political groups and effigies of their presidents or candidates at polling places (Cfr. article 32 of the Electoral Law and article 49 of its Implementing Measures) .The CENI appreciates the civic behavior adopted by the candidates in the various ballots during the electoral campaign, despite some cases of violence reported during this period. It invites political parties and groups, independent candidates as well as their supporters to observe the same responsible behavior during the voting period, after the vote, at the publication of the results and after it. Let us all vote in peace for the greater interest of the Democratic Republic of Congo, our dear and beautiful country.
