Given the lack of places in the center requested as the first option, the parents expressed their discomfort through a statement in which they denounced the lack of places despite having received verbal guarantees that a second line would be opened in case of demand.
According to sources from the Ministry, the final list of admitted candidates will be published on June 14, which will include the second line. So far, CEIP Cervantes has admitted 7 students and left out another 8. However, with the opening of the second unit, all those who applied for this school as their first option and those who put it as their second option and did not obtained a place in the first will be admitted.
The families had collected almost 400 signatures against the closure of the second unit. In their statement, the families expressed their dissatisfaction with the offer of only two 3-year-old units in public schools in the urban area of Alboraya, with a total of 28 places, compared to the 116 places (5 units) offered in schools arranged. The parents regretted that CEIP Cervantes, which in the past had two 3-year-old lines, had not launched the second line despite having sufficient demand.
