Health Region Plus City of Ingolstadt, Germany – Loneliness can have serious health consequences, including addiction. The Ingolstadt Mental Health Steering Association (SPGI), along with the Konradviertel district meeting and the Caritas district office, is working to raise awareness about the impact of loneliness on physical and mental health.

On Wednesday, September 13th, a lecture titled “Preventing, recognizing and treating addictions” will be given by Monika Gabler from the Caritas addiction clinic. The lecture will be held at the seniors’ café in the Konradviertel district meeting place from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Seniors are invited to attend, and admission is free.

This lecture is part of a series of events and activities planned in Ingolstadt this autumn, in collaboration with various organizations, as part of the Bavarian State Ministry of Health and Care’s prevention focus on the health consequences of loneliness. The goal is to raise awareness about loneliness and its impact on health, promote health literacy, and identify available support services.

Loneliness is a universal issue that can affect anyone. Prolonged loneliness can lead to physical and mental illness. By addressing this issue and providing resources and support, the health impact of loneliness can be mitigated.]
