The US House of Representatives has passed a bill to curb Islamophobia internationally. The House passed the bill by 219 votes to 212, introduced by Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar.

The move comes a week after the committee took special action to remove Lauren Biobert, who has called the state of Minnesota a terrorist zone in the country. The bill, which addresses growing Islamophobia around the world, is yet to be signed by President Joe Biden.

As per the law as per the bill, new offices will be set up in different states and a special officer will be appointed. They will work to prevent anti-Muslim propaganda. State-sponsored Islamophobia violence and impunity are included in the department’s annual human rights reports.
