There are few, very few, competitions that Portugal have never won in beach football. The Mediterranean Games are one of them and it is the next event in which the national team wants to kill the game.
Again in Greece, but this time in Heraklion, Portugal wants to take revenge for the 2019 defeat. There, after a group stage where they won Group A, Mário Narciso’s team ended up losing in the final against Italy, leaving them with the silver medal.
Now, the goal is to do better. And to be better, we can only think about gold, despite Italy, the Portuguese executioner in the last edition, being in the same Group B as Portugal. In theory, everything will be decided on Monday, but first there is a game with Egypt to overcome.
On the other side is Group A which will be played, apparently, by Spain and France. The winner of each group will play in the final next Tuesday. And of course Portugal’s goal is to be in that match…
