“QLAB 6/9” features an ensemble of renowned actors. They are Mohamed El Jam, Nezha Regragui, Abdelilah Ajil, Abderrahim Elmenyari, Mohamed Atir, Youssef Zaari, Safaa Habirkou, Fati Jamali, Issam Balalioui as well as other great figures of Moroccan cinema.

The storyline of the film focuses on the character of Aabass, a rich and powerful man with diverse interests. The story comically explores his authoritarianism and lack of empathy through his interactions with his employees, family, and business associates.

From the beginning, Aabass is presented as a demanding and ruthless character, not hesitating to fire those who do not meet his strict standards. At the same time, the story highlights the disparities between his wealth and the difficulties of the villagers, notably through the concerns of Hadaoui, his cousin, concerning a well necessary for their village.

The storyline also introduces Narjiss, a woman working at Aabass, and explores the emotional dilemmas of two young characters, Mayar and Mehdi, whose relationship is complicated by family expectations and social norms.

The story climaxes with intense moments where Aabass’ health is in danger, leading to crucial decisions for all the characters. The storyline ends on a strong emotional note, blending comedy, personal drama and broader social themes, while addressing issues of power, relationships and culture.

On this occasion, the director of the film, Mr. Laaouini indicated, in a statement to the press, that this 101-minute film is a dramatic comedy, noting that this feature film required six months of preparation and more than a month and a half of filming.

In this sense, he stressed that “the film highlights all the Moroccan know-how in the field of cinema, since the teams worked on the sets, the costumes and the entire palette of colors, in order to present to the public a high quality finished product.

For his part, actor Mohamed El Jam said he was very honored to take part in this film which constituted, for him, an enriching experience on a professional level, since it is his first role in the cinema since the start of his career 50 years ago.

The star of the small screen and theater said that his choice fell on “QLAB 6/9”, “thanks to the plot of the film, but also the technical staff and the production team who put everything into done so that everything happens in the best conditions.

Abdelilah Ajil, playing one of the main roles in the film, expressed her joy at sharing the stage with well-known and recognized Moroccan actors, but also the rising generation of Moroccan cinema.
