PRI and PAN file challenge against majority

The Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) filed an appeal with the National Electoral Institute (INE) against the agreement that determined the allocation of plurinominal deputiesconsidering that they give an overrepresentation to Morena.

Through his social networks, the national leader of the PRI, Alejandro Morenoargued that the appeal is due to the need to have a plurality in Congress.

“We have presented to the INE an appeal for the allocation of federal deputies of proportional representation. We consider it necessary to have a plurality of opinions in the Federal Congress, as decided by the citizens at the polls,” he said. Moreno.

For its part, the National Action Party (PAN) joined the initiative, as this Sunday it confirmed that it will challenge the distribution of plurinominal deputies before the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Branch of the Federation (TEPJF).

“At National Action, we believe that the decision endorsed contradicts the principles of equity and fair representation that should govern our democratic system.”

“The overrepresentation of a party or coalition creates a fictitious majority and not only alters the political balance, but also undermines the confidence of citizens in the Law and institutions,” said the national leader of the PAN, Marko Cortés.

He said that the challenge was filed before the TEPJF, requesting that the judges analyze and resolve, with autonomy and justice.
