Price Coordination Affair: The Competition Authority raided Wilifood’s offices

Competition Authority investigators raided the company’s offices today (Monday) Wilifood And confiscated computers and other materials from the company’s offices. The raid took place after Zvi Williger, one of the controlling owners of the food products importer, was questioned last month.

As you may recall, during November last year, a price coordination affair exploded in the food market, when investigators from the Competition Authority raided Shufersal and Strauss offices with search warrants and collected documents, computers and other materials.

As part of the investigations, former Shufersal CEO Itzik Aberkhan, CEO and controlling owner of the Victory Eyal Ravid chain, Rami Levy, owners of the Osher Ad Arieh supermarket chain, Diplomat CEO Noam Weiman and other market executives testified.

About two and a half months ago, it was announced that members of the Competition Authority raided the offices of food giant Unilever and confiscated computers and other materials from the company’s offices.

No response was received from Wilifood.

The company reported to the stock exchange that investigators from the Competition Authority today conducted a search of the company’s offices and seized documents, a telephone and computer equipment. The search warrant issued to the company stated that the search stemmed from a suspicion of an alleged restrictive arrangement. As of the date of this report, the Company has no additional information regarding the nature of the investigation and its circumstances.
