Frankfurt There has recently been little sign of a trend reversal in the real estate market when it comes to rents. In many cities, asking prices for renting apartments only went in one direction: upwards. However, a current study now indicates that tenants in existing apartments in some large German cities can expect a slight relief if they change apartments.
According to a study by the real estate portal Immowelt presented on Tuesday, prices in several major cities fell slightly in the third quarter compared to the previous quarter. For some cities, “the limit of what is affordable seems to have been reached for the time being,” say the experts.
Despite high inflation and increased demand for rental apartments due to rising financing costs, rents in major German cities are often stable or falling slightly for the time being.
