Investigators from the state criminal police were able to secure drugs, precursor substances, and lab equipment during the operation. The police believe that the 29-year-old priest intended not only to produce drugs for personal use but also to sell them. After the allegations became known, the affected priest was “immediately relieved of his duties in St. Pölten,” and further, “any pastoral activity in the diocese has been prohibited,” said a statement from the institution.
