Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has urged Malaysia to completely manufacture its famous automobile brand Perodua in Bangladesh.

On Wednesday (July 24) morning, Malaysian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Haznah Md. The Prime Minister made this call in his farewell meeting with Hashim.

At that time, the Prime Minister said that the car would be completely manufactured in Bangladesh instead of being assembled.

In the meeting, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the Malaysian ambassador recalled the longstanding friendly relations between the two countries since the time of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Regarding the situation created around the quota movement, the Malaysian High Commissioner said, I am confident in your ability to handle the current situation. You are handling the situation well and it is purely an internal matter of Bangladesh.

The Malaysian High Commissioner said that the country’s entrepreneurs have an investment of 5 billion dollars in Bangladesh. This investment is mainly from two telecommunication companies Robi and Edotco Bangladesh.

Haznaz Hashim mentioned that there is a significant number of Malaysian students in agricultural universities, medical colleges and other institutions.

Referring to Malaysia’s health facilities, the country’s high commissioner said their healthcare standards are similar to Singapore’s. But the cost is less than Singapore. So Bangladeshis can get medical services in Malaysia.
