Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina urged the newly elected public representatives to devote themselves to their service to gain the trust and confidence of the people.

He said these things at the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected chairmen of various Zilla Parishads, including the mayors of Comilla and Mymensingh City Corporation, at the Prime Minister’s office on Thursday (April 4).

Addressing the newly elected representatives, the Prime Minister said, you have been elected by the people. If you can ensure people’s service, there will be no worries about future votes.

He said, people will trust and believe in you. Keep this in mind. We want you to pay special attention to public service.

Highlighting the various steps taken by his government to deliver health services at the grassroots level, the Chief Minister said that the father of the nation first took measures to build a ten-bed hospital at the union level to bring medical services to the doorsteps of the people. He could not complete. After coming to the government, I ran a community clinic. Local people provide land, we provide buildings, medical equipment, train health workers and recruit them. We are giving 30 types of medicines free of charge.

He said, as public representatives, you will look at these aspects whether the health centers are running properly or not. Whether people are receiving medical care or not. People getting service is important.

On this day, the newly elected councilors of Mymensingh City were sworn in by the Minister of Local Government. On March 9, Mymensingh and Comilla City Corporation by-elections voted for the post of mayor. On the same day, the election for the post of chairman was held in the above Zilla Parishad.
