Prime Minister Han Duck-soo visited 119 rescue workers on the 13th ahead of the Chuseok holiday to express his gratitude for their hard work and encourage them.
Prime Minister Han visited the 119 Emergency Situation Management Center of the Chungbuk Fire Department in Cheongju, Chungbuk Province, in the afternoon of that day.
Prime Minister Han instructed, “Please do your best to prevent inconvenience to the public through prior cooperation between regions, medical institutions, and fire departments in case of emergency patients during the holiday period,” and “Please thoroughly prepare to prevent safety accidents at multi-use facilities so that not a single safety accident occurs during the holiday period.”
Next, he looked back on the working environment of the team members and said, “The people will long remember you for doing your best in the midst of an unprecedented medical vacuum, and they trust and rely on you.” He added, “We will do our best to create a country where regional medical care and essential medical care are alive so that you do not have to suffer.” He also asked, “Please pay special attention to your safety and health.”
Prime Minister Han had a video call with rescue workers from Jincheon Fire Station who gave birth to a baby through emergency delivery in an ambulance on the 15th of last month.
Prime Minister Han said, “I would like to thank all of you who have done your best to help a precious new life be born despite the recent medical emergency and the difficulty in selecting a medical institution,” and praised them for “calmly receiving medical guidance and providing appropriate emergency treatment, which has become an exemplary case for the people.” He added, “I am grateful for your dedication, and I will always support you.”
He then asked about the overall emergency room situation at hospitals and said, “Please always be careful not to miss the golden time and cooperate with the medical staff,” and “Please do a good job so that emergency patients do not miss the golden time.”
