Prime Minister Modi has said that the country is watching the game of badminton after India won the Thomas Cup.

The Indian men’s team won the gold medal by defeating the 14 – time champions Indonesia at the Thomas Cup Badminton Tournament in Bangkok, Thailand.
Prime Minister Modi had telephoned to congratulate the historic Indian team.
In this context, the Indian badminton players met Prime Minister Modi in Delhi today.
Similarly, Indian women’s badminton players who won the Uber Cup also met the Prime Minister.
Speaking then, the Prime Minister said that what you have done is not a small achievement. He also congratulated the entire team on behalf of the nation.
The Prime Minister said that the attitude that we can has become a new strength in the country today and I assure you that the government will provide all support to the soldiers.
“People have never cared about these matches before, but the country has been watching the game of badminton since the Thomas Cup victory,” he said.
Speaking at the event, Indian badminton player Kidambi Srikanth said, “No other player in the world can be so proud of this. I can say with great pride that we only had the privilege of speaking to you as soon as we won. Thank you so much for this.”
Gopichand, the head coach of the Indian badminton team, who later spoke about the meeting with the Prime Minister, said the Prime Minister has been watching the Indian players and the game. He mentioned that his thoughts are with the players.
