New Delhi: In a fiery response to the ongoing no-confidence motion debate, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party, criticizing their stance on national unity and Tamil Nadu’s place within India.

PM Modi took aim at the DMK’s appeals to the central government for the recovery of Kachchathivi, a disputed region in Sri Lanka, during his address. “Letters are being sent to the central government from the DMK side asking for the recovery of Kachchathivi. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin keeps insisting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should recover Kachchathiwa. Who laid the foundation for Sri Lanka? It was introduced to Sri Lanka during the Indira Gandhi regime,” he stated.

Continuing his speech, the Prime Minister also accused the Congress party of having a historical agenda of dividing India. He highlighted the controversial ban on the worship of Bharat Mata (Mother India) in Tamil Nadu, a state where the Congress party forms part of the ruling alliance. “The whole of India is sad because some people have spoken badly about Bharat Mata. People will not forgive them. Congress’s history is to break India. Worship of Bharat Mata is banned in Tamil Nadu,” he expressed passionately.

PM Modi defended the importance of Tamil Nadu in shaping Indian history and generating eminent leaders. “Let’s not forget that it was Tamil soil that gave Rajaji, Kamaraj, MGR, Abdul Kalam,” he said, emphasizing the contributions of Tamil Nadu to the nation.

The Prime Minister’s strong remarks come after a DMK leader in the Congress alliance reportedly made a remark suggesting that Tamil Nadu is not part of India. PM Modi urged opposition leaders to introspect and consider the significance of their words in the context of national unity.

As the debate on the no-confidence motion continues, these charged statements from Prime Minister Modi have intensified the already heated political atmosphere. The opposition now faces increasing pressure to clarify their stance and ensure harmony within the diverse fabric of Indian society.
