Title: Prime Minister Modi Warns Congress Could Push Madhya Pradesh Back as an Underdeveloped State

Bhopal, India – Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed BJP field workers in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, on September 25th. During his speech, he cautioned the people that if the Congress party comes to power in the state, it will regress to being an underdeveloped state, referencing the term “Bimaru” used to describe economically, health, and educationally backward states.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has held power in Madhya Pradesh for the past two decades, making it the only experience of governance for first-time voters. PM Modi emphasized that these voters have been fortunate to avoid witnessing the poor governance of the Congress party. Highlighting the historical context, he mentioned how the Congress party had ruled Madhya Pradesh for a significant period after India’s independence, leading to the conversion of a prosperous state into a Bimaru state.

In light of the upcoming assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, PM Modi urged BJP field workers to conduct extensive yatras across the state and coordinate public relations programs. He praised the volunteers attending the program for embodying the sentiments of the people and expressed gratitude for the unwavering support Madhya Pradesh has given to BJP, referring to the state as the heart of the nation.

Addressing the opposition’s tactics, PM Modi warned against attempts to divide women power by manipulating the issue of reservation for women, urging people not to fall for divisive politics.

Taking a veiled dig at Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, the Prime Minister remarked, without mentioning his name, that a “rich man” from the Congress party was converting agricultural land into a tourist spot for photo opportunities. This remark alluded to Rahul Gandhi’s recent tour of Madhya Pradesh, where he met with farmers and workers. PM Modi’s visit marks his third trip to the state within 45 days, demonstrating the importance Madhya Pradesh holds in the national political landscape.

Yesterday, Rahul Gandhi expressed confidence in Congress’s victory in the upcoming Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh assembly elections. These elections, along with those in Rajasthan, Mizoram, and Telangana, are being viewed as a preview of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, resulting in frequent visits from both PM Modi and Rahul Gandhi to these states.

As the assembly elections draw near, it remains to be seen if PM Modi’s warning of potential regression under Congress rule will resonate with the voters of Madhya Pradesh.
