Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived in Germany to attend the Munich Security Conference. The plane carrying the prime minister landed at Munich airport around 4:30 pm local time on Thursday (February 15).

This information was informed by the press wing of the Prime Minister.

The three-day conference will be held from February 16 to 18 at the Hotel Bayerischer Hof in Munich. About 500 representatives of heads of state and government of 60 countries, international organizations, media, public and private sectors will participate in the conference.

This is Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s first foreign visit after winning the 12th parliamentary elections and forming the government for the fourth consecutive term. The Prime Minister and his entourage left for Germany from Dhaka’s Shahjalal International Airport at around 11:30 today.

What is in the Prime Minister’s visit

Munich Security Conference President Ambassador Dr. The Prime Minister is going to Germany on the invitation of Christoph Huygen. In addition to attending the conference, the heads of government of at least seven countries and top leaders of three international organizations are scheduled to meet on the sidelines.

In this context, the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Hashan Mahmud said that the Prime Minister will hold a bilateral meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Netherlands Prime Minister Mark Rata, Danish Prime Minister Mete Frederiksen and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the sidelines of the Sassmeln.

Hasan Mahmud said that Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, UK Foreign Minister David Cameron, German International Cooperation and Development Minister Wenza Schulz, World Bank Senior Managing Director Axel van Trotsenberg and Mater Global Affairs President Sir Nick Clegg are scheduled to have a courtesy meeting with the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the conference on February 16 and participate in a high-level panel discussion on climate finance. The German diaspora will also attend a civic reception hosted by Bangladeshis.

After the visit, the Prime Minister will leave Munich for Dhaka on February 18. He is scheduled to reach Dhaka on February 19.
