Great Britain’s Prime Minister Keir Starmer also commented on the Middle East conflict in a party conference speech. At one point he promises himself to be unhappy.

Great Britain’s Prime Minister Keir Starmer makes headlines with a slip of the tongue. At a party conference in Liverpool, he called for de-escalation in the Middle East conflict and called for the release of the hostages who were kidnapped by the terrorist organization Hamas in an attack on Israel a year ago.

In his speech, however, Starmer was confused for a moment – he spoke of “sausages” (sausages) and then quickly corrected himself to “hostages” (hostages). The conservative newspaper “Telegraph” spoke of an embarrassing faux pas.

On Platform Starmer has since become the new Prime Minister.

In his speech, the 62-year-old called, among other things, for restraint and de-escalation on the border between Lebanon and Israel. Starmer also called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. His speech at the annual party conference otherwise largely revolved around the political situation in Great Britain.
