After six years, the Prime Ministers of India and Pakistan have a chance to meet face-to-face. As the Shanghai Cooperation Conference is being held in Tajikistan, it has been reported that the Prime Ministers of the two countries may meet. But there is no official information regarding the meeting.
Although India and Pakistan are neighbours, they have continued to be hostile, and the Pakistan Army has made it a habit of firing frequently in violation of the agreement along the Indian border. Pakistan-based terrorist movements are conspiring to infiltrate India and engage in subversive activities. Due to this, India has severed political relations with that country. In this case, India is meeting the Prime Minister of Pakistan in person.
The details are as follows:- The Shanghai Cooperation Organization has been formed by the presidents of 8 countries including Russia, China, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The aim of this organization is to discuss regional peace development, income eradication, mutual cooperation etc. It includes India and Pakistan as permanent members. Annual meetings of Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states are held on a rotating basis in each country. Last year the conference was held in Tajikistan.
Leaders participated online due to Corona and Prime Minister Modi also addressed the conference online. This year’s summit will be held in Uzbekistan on September 15 and 16. The Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Zhang Ming personally invited Prime Minister Shahbaz of Pakistan to the conference to be held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. Similarly, Prime Minister Modi is also going to attend this conference.
It is expected that the Prime Ministers of the two countries may meet during the conference. It will probably be the first meeting in six years if they meet, and the two prime ministers of the two countries will stay in the same arena during the conference. But so far no official information has been released regarding the meeting between the two parties. Perhaps if India allows such a meeting, surely the Pakistani side is also expected to come before the meeting.
