The star auction of the Prime Volleyball League will be held in Kochi today. Seven franchises will compete to bid for more than 400 Indian and international players. Calicut Heroes, Kochi Blue Spykers, Ahmedabad Defenders, Hyderabad Black Hawks, Chennai Blitz, Bangalore Torpedoes and Kolkata Thunderbolt will compete for the Prime Volleyball League title this year. This will be the biggest star auction ever in volleyball. Each franchise can select a total of 14 players to their team. This will include 12 Indian players and two international players.
Leading Indian volleyball players including Ashwal Rai, Ajit Lal C, Akhin GS, Deepesh Kumar Sinha, Jerome Vineet, Karthik A, Naveen Raja Jacob and Vineet Kumar will be in the Platinum category. There are 33 players in the Gold category. The other categories are Silver (141) and Bronze (205). A total of 23 players will compete in the auction in the under-21 category. Several international players, including David Lee (USA) and Luis Antonio Arias Guzman (Venezuela), have been inducted into the Prime Volleyball League International Player Draft.
