Primoli Foundation Award to Corneli, Messina and Masia

2023-06-03 09:15:45

Giorgiomaria Cornelio for Italian poetry, Marine Messina for the French novel and Giorgia Masia for photography are the winners of the Primoli 2022 prizes. The Primoli Foundation, chaired by Roberto Antonelli, president of the Accademia dei Lincei, has been involved since 1928 in the promotion of literary and artistic culture between Italy and France, awards three international prizes every year dedicated to the figure of its founder Giuseppe Primoli: a prize for photography, with the aim of remembering the photographic work of Giuseppe Primoli and promoting research and production by young photographers (in each edition the award is dedicated to a different theme); two literary prizes, for the novel and for poetry, with the aim of promoting the first works of young authors, under 35, speaking Italian and French, and thus encouraging young talents.

The examining commissions make it a point of honor to be totally independent from editorial or academic logic: this is guaranteed by the authority of the Foundation, which has been carrying out its activity for almost a century, always based on the scientific quality of its initiatives and its scientific bodies, chaired by the most famous Italian scholars, from Mario Praz to Ettore Paratore to Massimo Colesanti. The winners of the 2022 edition are for Italian Poetry Giorgiomaria Cornelio with the collection The delivery of embers published by Luca Sossella editore. For the French novel Marine Messina with Le vertige des acrobates published by Presses Universitaires de Vincennes “Singulières migrations”. For Photography: Giorgia Masia with the Barcelona project every corner is art.

Special mention to Irene Carnevale with the project Io vengo dalla luna // MAAM edition. It will be possible to visit the exhibition of the two awarded photographic projects at the Foundation, via Zanardelli 1, until 16 June.
