On Monday, Prince Albert II appeared at Wimbledon accompanied by a woman – but it was not his wife Charléne. It is not the first time that he has appeared with her.
One of the most important tennis tournaments is currently being held in Wimbledon. Tennis fans from all over the world are excited. Right in the middle of it all: Prince Albert II. On Monday, the Monegasque ruler watched one of the matches spellbound from the stands. He did not appear alone, however, but with female company. His wife Charlène was nowhere to be seen. Instead, the 66-year-old was having fun with a brunette lady with whom he has appeared in public several times. Who is she?
Albert’s companion is Melanie-Antoinette Costello de Massy, the daughter of his cousin Elizabeth Ann de Massy, who died in 2020. She is said to have a close relationship with the royal family, reports the British newspaper “Tatler” among others.
The two have appeared together several times in the past. In April, Melanie-Antoinette Costello de Massy accompanied Prince Albert II and his wife Charlène to the Monte Carlo Masters, a tennis tournament. In January, she also appeared at an event with the couple and their children.
It wasn’t just Albert’s companion who attracted attention, but also his outfit. He watched the tennis tournament in an elegant dark blue suit and combined it with blue glasses. What attracted particular attention, however, was the watch on his wrist, which kept flashing out. The accessory from luxury manufacturer Tag Heuer, which matched the glasses perfectly in color, currently costs 11,400 euros on the company’s website.
Prince Albert II has been married to former swimmer Charlène since July 2011. In 2014, the couple had twins, Princess Gabriella and Prince Jacques.
