Meghan Markle dances in the style of Shakira in Colombia

During her visit to Colombia, Meghan Markle surprised everyone by showcasing her dancing skills, imitating the iconic moves of Shakira. At a joyful event, the Duchess did not hesitate to sway her hips to the rhythm of the music, while Prince Harry watched her with a smile from a corner.

What are Harry and Meghan doing in Colombia?

The British prince Harry and his wife, former actress Meghan Markle, visited Cartagena and the historic town of former slaves San Basilio de Palenque in the Caribbean of Colombia this Saturday, as part of an invitation from Vice President Francia Márquez.

In the morning, the Dukes of Sussex toured the tourist city of Cartagena de Indias, the capital of the Bolívar department (north), under a strong security scheme.

There they visited a school for traditional drums in an area known as La Boquilla, where they received a music lesson with those handcrafted instruments made of wood and leather.

In the afternoon, the couple arrived at San Basilio de Palenque, about 50 kilometers from Cartagena, considered the “first free town in South America” after being founded in the 18th century by slaves who escaped from their captors.

Amidst singing, dancing, celebrations, and drums, Harry and his wife finally appeared accompanied by community leaders and Vice President Márquez.

The visit of the youngest son of King Charles III of the United Kingdom “aims to build bridges and open doors that allow us to join efforts to raise awareness and address a problem that today concerns all humanity: cyberbullying and violence in digital environments and discrimination,” Márquez said to the press on Thursday.

Their stay in Colombia is a prelude to the World Ministerial Conference on the Elimination of Violence Against Children, which will take place in Bogotá on November 7 and 8.

The couple severed ties with the British monarchy in 2020 and resides in California, USA. Harry has a distant relationship with the royal family since his departure from the UK.
