In 1991, Princess Diana, alongside her two sons, participated in burying a “Variety Club” time capsule at a London hospital. Diana herself served as the hospital’s president. The capsule, intended to be discovered centuries later, was dug up much sooner to make way for a new children’s cancer hospital. This wooden, lead-lined box contained ten items that symbolized life in the 1990s, chosen with Diana’s input. These artifacts included a CD by Australian singer Kylie Minogue, a photograph of Diana, and a copy of The Times newspaper featuring Mikhail Gorbachev on its front page. Also placed inside were a European Passport and a Solar Power Hologram.
