After the birthday parade, Princess Kate will appear in public once again. The palace has now confirmed this.
Princess Kate withdrew after her cancer diagnosis was announced. She did not attend any public events for months. She made her first appearance in June at Trooping the Colour, the birthday parade for King Charles III. Now another one is following.
Kensington Palace confirmed on Saturday that Princess Kate will watch the men’s Wimbledon final on Sunday. This was reported by several British media outlets, including the “Express” and the “Daily Mail”.
The wife of heir to the throne, Prince William, has been patron of the All England Club for eight years and in this role traditionally presents the trophies to the winners. On Saturday, the men’s and women’s doubles finals, as well as the women’s singles final, will take place in Wimbledon. However, Kate will not be present. On Sunday, the mixed doubles final will follow, and the crowning finale: the men’s final between veteran Novak Djokovic and young star Carlos Alcaraz.
It remains to be seen whether Princess Kate will gradually return to the public eye. There is no information about further dates to date. However, she herself fueled confidence that she will return soon despite her “ongoing” cancer treatment: “I hope that I can attend some public events in the summer, but I also know that I am not out of the woods yet.” She says that she is currently still receiving chemotherapy.
