Renovations and equipment in the educational institutions, painting crossings and “drop off and go” bays, opening new schools, accepting new principals and educational staff and live broadcasting on Facebook for parents

If there is no last-minute strike, the 2018 school year is expected to open next week in educational institutions in Holon and 37,557 students will begin the year in formal education settings.
2,617 children from the total number of students will begin studying in first grade and this year 269 kindergartens, 52 special education kindergartens, 35 elementary schools, 17 upper elementary schools, 8 special education schools and 108 special education classes in the elementary and upper schools will operate in the city elementary
During the summer, the municipality invested over 16 million NIS in the renovations of the educational institutions which continued the works carried out during the year. In this framework, safety works, painting, sand replacement, infrastructure works, shading and lawns, acoustic ceilings and LED lighting were carried out, a large amount of air conditioners were installed, sports fields were renovated and accessibility works and deep renovations were carried out.
As of last week, the infrastructure department began repainting the “Horde and Saa” complexes which will continue this week and in the coming days the crosswalks near the educational institutions where the 12th guards are stationed will also be painted.
The formal education budgets increased in 2022 and stand at NIS 580,087 million, with the investment per student at NIS 16,892. The informal education budget stands at NIS 88,056 million, which is invested in sports activities, youth movements, community enrichment, libraries, and more.
To this must be added the investment in development budgets amounting to NIS 79,036 million used for building kindergartens, planning day care centers, building a school for autistic children, establishing an innovative elementary school and more.
The year 2018 in the education system in Holon begins with a sign of renewal: 2 new educational institutions are opening in the city – a growing elementary school named after Judge Shamgar and a growing middle school on the Hankin campus; in September, the new technological-educational center “Beit Rother” will be inaugurated, in which about 20 1 million NIS (from the funds of the Ministry of Education and the Municipality). Its main goal is to leverage technological education in the city in particular and in the district in general and it will be a home for the urban technology majors and for teachers and students from around the city. The center is equipped with the latest laboratories and systems and 3 majors will be developed in it – communication, product design, and aerospace, with leading professionals in their field; in the month of October, a teenage center will be opened in cooperation with the Ministry of Education for third, fourth, and fifth grade students identified by the Ministry of Education as outstanding students that will operate in the afternoon on Sundays at the Yeshayahu School.
Moreover, 11 new principals for the schools and 20 new principals for the kindergartens in the city are joining the municipal education system this year:
Primary managers: Katznelson – Mittal Drai, defenders – Lilach Krakowski, Alumim – Lior Masut, Shazar – Idit Maayan, Shamgar – Maayan Rimon and Shankar – Yifat Yakoti.
Elementary administrators: Elon – Vardit Padida, Navon – Eti Abodi, Kogel – Samdar Haddad and the new plant – Zehavit Samuel.
