Through the skills of inmates in the confidence phase of the Zero Leisure Plan, they continue to support the construction of housing projects.
Under previous governments, prisons were controlled by gang leaders and drug traffickers, who extorted, ordered murders and continued to control their territories regardless of whether they were deprived of their liberty.
The prison transformation has benefited public and private institutions, as well as thousands of Salvadorans, after prisoners were in charge of repairing and modernizing schools, hospitals, health units, even police stations and emergency vehicles.
