Prisoners of IK-2 in the Irkutsk region went on hunger strike

In correctional colony No. 2, located near the city of Angarsk, Irkutsk region, the prisoners went on hunger strike. As Kommersant was told in the press service of the Federal Penitentiary Service in the Irkutsk region, five prisoners refuse food, whose condition is monitored by medical workers and employees of the psychological service.

“Employees of IK-2 of the Main Directorate of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Irkutsk Region revealed cases of convicts refusing to obey the regime requirements and internal regulations of the institution, including a demonstrative blackmail refusal to eat,” the department said.

The regional department of the Federal Penitentiary Service also notes that they are consistently working to prevent convicts from violating internal regulations and the requirements of the regime, paying special attention to educational activities with persistent violators.
