Within the framework of the World Law Congress, held in New York on July 20 and 21 and organized by the World Jurist Association, Andrés Conde, CEO of Save The Children Spain, highlighted the quality of the Pro Bono Program of Iberdrola’s legal services.

A pro bono service is one that is provided gratis or without expectation of payment, and that primarily benefits poor or less privileged individuals or communities and the organizations that assist them.

This congress has brought together in New York several heads of state, authorities, judges of supranational and national high courts, policy makers, academics, lawyers, activists and students to discuss a wide variety of current issues to which the legal community must propose solutions.

The CEO of Save The Children Spain participated in three interventions during the congress, and although Save The Children has had the pro bono services of the vast majority of law firms and law firms in Spain on numerous occasions, the experience with Iberdrola has been remarkably satisfactory, in Conde’s opinion. «They have understood very well and have become sensitive to the restlessness that having problems for those who do not have sufficient means to deal with them generated in the organization. The level of commitment and dedication of its professionals have accompanied us from start to finish, persistently monitoring each case and demonstrating a high level of empathy,” said Conde.

After emphasizing Save The Children’s collaboration with the multinational energy company, Andrés Conde made an appeal to professionals in the sector. “I can’t think of a better forum than the present, the house of the United Nations and in one of the most powerful countries in the world, the United States, to send a loud and clear message: lawyers and prosecutors have a unique tool to achieve a fairer society, and I want to encourage you all to collaborate with the third sector, because we need you a lot”, insisted the CEO of Save The Children to conclude one of the interventions at the Congress.
